Tic Tac Toe

This week I did Tic-Tac-Toe and we did it on a man falling down the toilet. You can find the article on KiwiKidsNews. this is my own writing.

What I learned.
I have learnt that if something similar happens get the proper people to do it, or the people most equipped to do it.If there is people to do it for you in this particular situation . Also they should have doors leading out the bottom with a dug away part to access the doors, at the bottom so you do not have to destroy the toilet to clean it or get a person or something out. I think that is a little bit silly that he thought he could get the phone in a amongst the contents of the toilet.Myself I would not be able to stand the stench of the toilet especially being right in the toilets storage for the people’s waste.

Vocabulary

Firefighters

They are important because they were the people that rescued the man.

Toilet

It is important to the story because that is where the man spent an hour

Phone

His friend dropped his phone in the toilet and he thought it would be a good idea to try and get it by himself.

Daffodil Day

Today it is Daffodil Day, we came dressed as what we wanted to be when we grew up. Some people in my soccer team came as soccer players and wore our uniforms. I chose to come as a Well Payed Actor Playing As A Soccer Player In A Movie. I know it is a mouthful but I could not decide if I wanted to come as a soccer player or a actor so I chose both.

The reason Daffodil Day is so important is because of cancer. We all bring a gold coin to help fun the cancer research. We did a really cool parade with all the classes marching around the court to show off there outfits. We are soon going to tell the class what we dressed up as.

2.What knowledge might I need to help move towards this understanding?

3.What is it I hope to be able to do more competently?  (skills)

4.What learning powers will this inquiry help me practice and develop further?  (Explain this)

 1. I hope to understand solar panels and energy better so I will have an understanding of how our power works and what goes on inside solar panels and what I can do to reduce my carbon footprint, and to give advice to other people to help reduce theirs. That is if they want to advice.

 2. I will need help from my group to get all the information for our end product whatever that might be. I will also need to get stuck in and soak up all the information that we come across in our group meeting or by myself looking for information .

3. I hope to be able to work with diffearnt people easier by working in a group with some diffearnt people than I usually work with/or sit next to while doing my work. I also hope to gain more knowledge on solar powers so I can answer questions about energy and solar panels with ease.

4. I will develop my curiosity learning power and my resilience learning power because I will be inquiring and asking questions. We will most likely get stuck on something and have to work through it.

My Speech

For the past few weeks we have been writing speeches or writing poems and memorizing them. I did my speech on white tigers and they are amazing animals. Here is my speech.
Intro:
Imagine have a giant ball of fluff to hug, Well if that's what you want  this is probably not the choice for you. I chose white tigers because I wanted to do something unusual. I also like big cats. White tigers interest me because there pattern is unusual and they are a very rare form of tiger.

Body:1
The white Bengal tigers stand out because of the color of their fur.
The orange fur in Bengal tigers comes from something called pheomelanin, white tiger’s do not have much pheomelanin pigments in there skin. That is why they are white.

Body:2
The length of a fully grown adult is up to 3 meters and can weigh about 200-230 kilograms. White Bengal tigers finish growing when they are 2-3 years old.As with all tigers, the white Bengal tiger’s stripes are like fingerprints, with no two tigers having the same pattern. The stripes of the tiger are a pigmentation of the skin; if an individual were to be shaved, its distinctive coat pattern would still be visible

Body:3
White bengal tiger’s normally  grow faster and heavier than normal tigers.
They also tend to be bigger at birth, and as fully grown adults. White tiger births are extremely rare because both parents need to have the unusual white gene, which only happens naturally one every 10,000 births

Body: 4
There is a myth that white tigers have an 80% infant mortality rate. However, the infant mortality rate for white tigers is no higher than it is for normal orange tigers bred in captivity. The white tiger is a hybrid mutant version of the tiger. If a pure white Siberian tiger were to be born, it would therefore not be selectively bred within the tiger conservation programs. Due to the popularity of white tigers, they are used to attract visitors to zoos. White tigers are found are commonly found in zoos in China.

Conclusion:
In conclusion white tigers are amazing animals that we need to keep around. I hope you enjoyed my speech goodbye.

That was my speech.

Jets

Today we got given some post-its and a pen, we were told to walk around the room and look at the tables that had items on them. Some of them were random, we wrote down questions that we thought of about the objects and put them next to it. After that we wrote down the two questions about one thing that we found most interesting, after that we went to the table where those questions that we wrote down came from.

After that we got a big piece of paper and stuck all the questions in there subjects and put them on a big piece of paper together. We stacked them so it look like one post-it for every subject. I did mine on a fighter jet and my questions were.

1. What is this jet called?
2. How many bullets can it hold at one time?
3. How many people can it carry?
4. How much weight can it take-off with?
5. How much does it cost to make?
6. How many were made?
7. How fast can it fly?
8. How long did it take to make?
9. How much runway does it need to take off?
10.How much does it need to land?

Rescue Mission To Save a Doll

So... a passerby was walking by a car and saw a baby left in it with no windows open and in warm clothes. So he called 111 and got them to break into the car. When they grabbed what they thought was a dying baby they realized it was just a realistic looking toy baby that the car owners granddaughter had left in the car when they went out.

The owner's car was fully paid for by the police.

I think that is strange and has probably only happen once.
It is good the police paid for the car to be fixed.

Hunger Games

For the past 2 terms we have been reading the hunger games, It is a thrilling story where Katniss Everdeen and Peter Malark. They get sucked into the hunger games where they have to fight for survival with 24 other tributes. Most of the other tributes die in the first day and it is down to 15 but it is still a fight for survival with the main enemy being the carers. That is the first 3 districts that get trained to fight and kill.

It is a good book and would recommend it to anyone over ten.
